Maximizing the performance of machinery and robots to transform industrial productivity.

In our Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering program, we integrate mechanics, electronics, automation, and informatics to develop versatile engineers in the design, development, or adoption of intelligent and autonomous production lines/cells. In addition, they may incur the application of mechatronic or cyber-physical systems for applications from agriculture to medicine. Engineers whose mission is to maximize the performance of the availability of machinery and robots to make industries more productive and competitive.

The Mechatronics and Robotics career at Key Institute offers comprehensive training that empowers students to integrate knowledge of mechanics, electronics, automation and computer science into the design of mechatronic and robotic systems, providing innovative solutions for the industry. Students develop skills to design and develop intelligent and autonomous systems, using advanced technologies for Cyber-Physical applications. In addition, they acquire solid knowledge in key areas such as sensors, actuators, robotics, electronics, materials and energy, allowing them to effectively and comprehensively approach projects, contributing to technological progress and industrial efficiency.

We will train students capable of optimizing manufacturing processes and systems with innovative solutions that seek high productivity, flexibility and competitiveness leveraged in the digitalization and automation of processes; and ensure that graduates are equipped to lead the emerging industrial landscape and make a technological transition towards Industry 4.0 and the digital transformation of the organization.

Thanks to the comprehensive training of the mechatronics engineer, upon graduating they will be able to work in different types of organizations and in different areas such as:

  • Automation of industrial systems and processes

  • Development of Systems for the transformation of matter and energy

  • Design of mechatronic element devices (Intelligent Inventories, mobile robots, precision agriculture, prosthesis...)

  • Design and Development of Cyber-Physical Devices. (Building Management Systems, Climate Monitoring Systems, IIoT, Satellite Analysis in Cities, etc.)

  • Procurement and Life Cycle Cost Analysis
